  • WRA is a tuition free K – 8th grade Charter School.
  • Children entering kindergarten must be 5 by June 15th. WRA’s kindergarten is a free, 5 day a week, full day program.
  • Start Time – The school day starts at 8:00 a.m. Students may be dropped off starting at 7:40 a.m. and will be let directly into the building. Students must be in their seats at 8:00 a.m. or they are considered tardy.
  • School Breakfast – students eating breakfast at school can arrive by 7:40 am and head directly to the cafeteria.
  • End Time – The school day ends at 3:15 p.m. WRA does not have any early release days and we attend school Monday through Friday. Students need to be picked up by 3:30 p.m.
  • Weather Closure – WRA follows District 6 for weather closures. If District 6 closes due to weather, cancels after school activities or has late start times, then West Ridge Academy will do the same. Information about events for WRA will be posted on the front page of our website, wrak8.org. Phone calls, texts and emails will be sent to families from WRA to communicate this information.   • WRA has a school-wide dress code.
  • Character education is very important at West Ridge Academy. There are eight pillars of virtue: community, compassion, gratitude, integrity, perseverance, respect, responsibility, and self-control. Students, teachers, and staff all uphold these virtues. Families are expected to uphold these virtues while on campus.
  • K–8th grades have music, art, and P.E. classes several times a week. Grades 3 – 5 also have Computer Science twice per week. Middle school students can choose from band, choir or computer science as an elective.
  • WRA is a member of the Northern Colorado Independent League (NCIL) for Middle School Sports. Students, 6th–8th grades, can participate in boys’ and girls’ soccer, boys’ and girls’ basketball, girls’ volleyball, and boys’ and girls’ track and field.
  • Extracurricular activities including Chess Club and Art Club.
  • Breakfast and Lunch is provided daily from District 6 Food Services
